It is a good solution for storing plates but you do need to allocate additional space to lift your plates out of the rack. I had to adjust my shelves to accommodate it. Also, your plates rest against each other, the rubber on the base of the unit are not notched. The rack is suitable for dinner plates and large quarter plates only.
