We’ve been passionate about storage and organisation long before decluttering, restocking and organising began to trend on social media. In fact, social media hashtags didn’t exist when our big cheese conceived the concept of a shop selling exclusively storage and organisational products..
When we first opened our doors, we had two simple goals: to offer beautifully designed, genuinely useful storage products, and to provide the kind of customer service we would want to receive ourselves.
Long before online shopping became the norm, we were helping customers organise their homes from our high street stores across the North West and our beloved North Wales. We spent years listening to customers, solving everyday storage dilemmas and discovering which products really stood the test of time. That experience still shapes everything we do today.
In 2006, we took the leap into e-commerce (or "web-based commerce", as it was often called back then!). It was still early days for online retail, but we believed that carefully chosen storage products, backed by honest advice and personal service, would translate just as well online as they had in our shops.
Thankfully, we were right.
Over the years, our approach attracted attention from some of the UK's biggest retailers, several of whom approached us hoping to replicate our concept. We took it as a huge compliment, but chose to remain true to what mattered most to us: staying independent and putting our customers first.
Today, Not A Boring Box remains proudly independent and employee-owned. We continue to work closely with APDO (The Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers), carefully curate every product we sell, and have been fortunate to receive recognition through industry awards, partnerships and recommendations in the national press.
More than two decades on, our philosophy hasn't changed. We still believe that great storage should make everyday life easier, homes calmer, and organising just that little bit more enjoyable. And whether you're buying one storage box or redesigning your entire pantry, you'll always receive the same friendly, personal service that's been at the heart of our business from the very beginning.
We’re regularly featured and provide expert tips in publications across the UK such as Elle Decoration, Ideal Home Magazine and The Sunday Times etc. and our products have featured in prestigious international publications such as The New York Times, and Harper’s Bazaar.
